Sunday Night Ramblings

Well, tonight seemed to be a warm and happy evening.

Tonight was our first Afterglow of the year. The goal was to have fun, and I think we accomplished that and then some. We played cards, we played Halo 3, we watched Ron do tricks on a skateboard without hurting himself, we had a group devotion from the book of Proverbs 26 on Gossip, and we ate lots of junk food. Melissa Marr and Ron Dempsey make some unbelievably tasty home made cookies. WOW. And I heard lots of people laughing, so that's always good, except when they are laughing at me, of course. Overall, it was good times had by all, can't wait until the next one. (Next AFTERGLOW is Sunday October 5, 2008)

Thank you to all of you who helped clean the WJC stadium after the LHS football game this past weekend. Our next clean-up after the game is this friday 9-12-08. For those who don't know, the youth have Mission Trip fundraisers each year, and one of the many fundraisers we have is to clean-up the stadium after all 6 LHS HOME football games. The money we get from WJC goes to defer the cost of our trip. It usually only takes about 45 minutes to clean the stadium if 10 or so people show up to help bag trash. So please plan on helping this friday if you can. The game typically ends around 9:45 pm, and we can just all meet down near the field as soon as the last second ticks off the clock. Afterwards we usually play catch with a football on the big open field. Please plan on helping us clean-up if you can.

• Youth Sunday is getting close as well. Mark it on your calendars: October 5, 2008.

• Trunk or Treat is October 31, 2008. The youth WILL have a TRUNK, please plan to help decorate and participate.
